The Best Pools For Kentucky Are Fiberglass

There are three basic types of in-ground pools, categorized by their material: Fiberglass, Concrete (also called Gunite or Shotcrete), and Vinyl Liner pools.

Sleepy Hollow only builds pools for our neighbors in Kentucky, and we’re passionate about fiberglass pools because we’ve seen the stress-free, long-term joy they provide local homeowners.

Additional Benefits of Fiberglass Pools

Fiberglass has the quick installation time, longevity, budget, and maintenance preferences our clients are looking for.

Low Maintenance

Fiberglass pools are the easiest type of pool to maintain.  Run the filter daily, brush weekly, and maintain the proper water chemistry.

The non-porous gelcoat surface of a fiberglass pool makes it more difficult for algae to grow. This means you’ll use fewer chemicals, less filtration, and spend less time overall on maintenance and cleaning.

Quick Installation

Fiberglass pools are by far the quickest type of pool to install.  From the delivery of the shell to your first dip in the water takes an average of 4 - 6 weeks.

That certainly beats the 3-6 months you would have to wait for a concrete pool to be installed, and even clocks in faster than the 4-8 weeks you would be waiting for a vinyl pool.

Initial and Lifetime Cost

Fiberglass Pools are simply the best in overall long-term value.

Fiberglass is much less expensive than concrete, both in its upfront cost and in its upkeep and maintenance costs.

The initial investment in a fiberglass pool is slightly higher than a vinyl pool.  However, without the maintenance and repair costs that a vinyl liner pool has, over the lifetime of the pool, fiberglass is less expensive.

Add-ons and Accessories

We know that there is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all design. Every pool we build is shaped by your lifestyle, your preferences, the natural layout of your yard, and what you have been dreaming about.

Water Features

Waterfalls, fountains, bubblers, deck jets, and sheer descent cascading water features all transform your pool into a luxury retreat. Just by creating more movement in the water, the light is reflected and ambient sound is produced, giving you a calm and interactive atmosphere.

Pool Slides

The original pool accessory! Adding a pool slide transforms your backyard into a personal water park, ramping up the fun for everyone. Beyond the entertainment value, slides enhance property appeal, and encourage more physical activity and exercise.

Automation

From robotic pool vacuums to safety covers, pumps, sanitization, lighting, heating, and water features, there is little in pool management that can’t be automated. Automation systems can be controlled from touchscreen or smartphones, and be integrated with voice assistants. “Alexa, clean my pool!”

Lighting and Heating

As well as adding obvious safety and comfort, lighting and heating can give you more time to enjoy your pool. Without worrying about the dark or the cold, you can safely stay in the pool longer each evening and also extend your pool time longer into the season, whatever our Kentucky weather decides to do!

Saltwater Systems

Swimmers describe saltwater pools as cleaner, more pleasant to be in, and providing softer, silkier water. Saltwater is safer and much more gentle on your skin when compared to heavily chlorinated water, which makes it ideal for those with health issues or who have kids.
